Microsoft Office is now ready to launch on the Apple iPad. While Microsoft and Apple are rivals, it is very surprising that they are putting their software on Apples hardware. It’s a bold move to team up with a rival company when it comes to electronics. There are many things that can go wrong with teaming up, especially backstabbing. These companies are worth a lot of money, and I feel that teaming up with a rival will only lead to law suits and trouble. I realize they both want a selling point, but i would reccommend creating their own programs instead of borrowing from each other. Either way, this might end up good for both of them, and possibly into a ton of money.
Twitter is expanding their popularity with Windows Phone users. They have added a new feature on the lock screen of the newer windows phones. Instead of having to go into the phone and click on “twitter”, the user can now set a twitter status right from the lock screen. The user can customize the lock screen to however they want it to look like. I think the coolest feature of the new Windows twitter update is the ability to get a notification of tweets from people close to you.
I think this is a prime example of how the social networking industry is changing, and changing fast. People dont even need to go into their phone to see other people’s twitter statuses. Some people like it, some people dont, but the industry is changing fast regardless.
